The next generation of Alaskans must understand the obligations of ownership. Alaskans have an obligation to one another and the state. That obligation can be expressed, in part, through meaningful dialogue about the complex and dynamic issues facing Alaska and Alaskans’ responsibilities in addressing them.
Forum for Dialogue
The Institute of the North is committed to supporting and strengthening leadership in the state and providing a common ground for community members and leaders to engage with one another and critical issues. A web-based forum for those conversations is an opportunity for Alaskans to reflect and engage with those issues while respecting one another's difference in perspective. This forum is important in contributing to a vibrant, civil civic discourse.

Contributors have been invited to participate by the Institute of the North as vibrant voices in our state's past and future. Citizens who participate are drawn from the Institute’s Alaska Dialogue series as well as from an open invitation to community members and leaders who recognize service to state and community, respect for one another and a commitment to putting Alaska before special interests.
